Accessible Performances Bloom This Summer
June explodes with inclusive and outdoor performances that offer something for everyone. Plus, a world premiere musical takes the stage at A.C.T. and Stanford Live announces their 2025/26 season.

Summer has officially arrived in the Bay Area, and with it comes a celebration of the arts—outdoors, inclusive, and wholeheartedly welcoming. From San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, and San Jose, local theatres, opera companies, and festivals are rolling out performances designed for everyone.
Highlights include Bohème Out of the Box, a one‑hour, mobile rendition of La Bohème staged in shipping‑container theatres across the region—completely free and open for all from June 1–29. Over at A.C.T., Co-Founders, a hip‑hop musical set in Oakland and SF, will feature open captioning on June 21. BroadwaySF presents A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical with multiple access options June 3–22. Marin Theatre’s Do You Feel Anger? gets captioned on June 26, and Sweat, a heart‑felt Pulitzer winner, offers audio description and ASL interpretation June 21–22. Plus, SF Opera’s full La Bohème (with open captioning) and Idomeneo (with HD video and accessibility features) round out the season.
On the Stage
This week it is all about the music. A world premiere musical at A.C.T.; Mahler and Verdi take the stage at SF Symphony; and the music of Neil Diamond comes in the form of a Broadway show.
