Don’t Miss a Moment at Berkeley Rep’s “The Hills of California” with Accessible Dates
Plan your November with help from our accessibility calendar. Plus, celebrate Día de Los Muertos with SF Symphony.
This week, catch The Hills of California at Berkeley Rep in a captioned performance. Jez Butterworth’s witty, poignant exploration of family and home comes vividly to life, making it the perfect kickoff to a November of accessible performances across the Bay Area.
Continue with Stereophonic, a Tony-winning dive into a 1976 music studio world, where sound and story collide with open captions and ASL interpretation. At Berkeley Rep, Mother of Exiles tells a stirring tale of ancestry and immigration, connecting 1898 Angel Island to today’s world—with close captioning at multiple performances. Musical theatre fans can catch the high-energy, socially charged Kinky Boots, or the inspiring suffrage saga SUFFS, available with audio description. Dance lovers are invited into MOMIX’s surreal Alice, where Wonderland springs to life in motion and sound. And opera audiences are equally well served with Wagner’s Parsifal, open-captioned for every performance, and The Monkey King, a bilingual blend of puppetry, dance, and epic myth.
