Reimagine Your Holiday Traditions with Classic Films Live with SF Symphony
The Bay Area’s weekly roundup of arts, culture, and community | December 19 to 25, 2025
This weekend offers you and yours two opportunities to celebrate classic holiday films with the San Francisco Symphony. Take a seat among the grandeur of Davies Symphony Hall and enjoy a the action on screen while introducing your young ones to the magic of live orchestral music. Or, reminisce and enjoy a second childhood for yourself without the kids, we won’t judge.
Today and tomorrow, Kevin McCallister will be up to all his old tricks with Home Alone. SF Symphony will perform on stage while wild antics are shown on a big screen. You may have seen the movie a hundred times before, but you’ve never experienced it like this. Fun and flutes, tricks and trombones, the orchestra brings something completely new to the beloved film.
On Sunday and Monday, A Charlie Brown Christmas is reimagined as live actors, an animated backdrop, and the timeless music performed by the Symphony combines on stage into a performance that takes you back to simpler times. And don’t worry, SF Symphony provides you with the lyrics for the sing-a-long portion; no need to wa-wa like the Peanuts adults do.
For both of these performances, children’s tickets are half off.
