Welcome

A Note From Seattle Theatre Group

On behalf of Seattle Theatre Group’s staff, board, and volunteers, welcome to the historic Paramount Theatre for this performance of Riverdance. I’m grateful that you’re here to experience this impressive show that has been inspiring audiences through movement and storytelling for 30 phenomenal years! This production rejuvenates the much-loved original show with innovative choreography, costumes, and state-of-the-art lighting, projection and motion graphics, and showcases a new generation of exceptional performers.

Last fall, STG became the new owner of Kerry Hall the historic building that was the original home of Cornish College of the Arts and is now a community arts center and the hub for our Education & Community Engagement (ECE) programs. We’ve previously shared with you how important it is that our organization has a home for these programs, which serve over 40,000 participants across the Puget Sound annually. I’m excited to provide some updates about what we’ve accomplished so far in the building.

Since January, we’ve hosted 10 ECE programs at Kerry Hall and five outside artists and cultural organizations have rented the dance studios and rehearsal spaces. ECE programs that have benefitted from the building include Resonate, our series that connects rising musicians age 21+ with industry leaders and professionals for a panel discussion and Q&A; Broadway Inclusion Program, which provides theatre arts programming to neurodivergent and/or disabled community members; Dance for PD® (Parkinson’s Disease), dance classes that create joy and body connection through movement; and various masterclasses. We have 12 upcoming ECE events and programs and three exciting outside rentals that will happen in the space over the next few months.

AileyCamp, our annual free dance camp, in conjunction with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, will celebrate its 10th anniversary this summer. The expanded space at Kerry Hall will enable us to increase participation in the program by nearly 50%. All of us at STG look forward to celebrating this milestone for AileyCamp by welcoming even more students to experience exceptional dance education and personal growth opportunities.

I encourage you to discover more about what we’re doing at Kerry Hall and learn how you can get involved—whether it’s donating musical instruments, making a gift, or participating directly in one of our fabulous ECE programs—by visiting www.stgpresents.org. We’re grateful for your support in expanding access for participants of all ages to experience arts education in this treasured historic space.

Thank you for being here and sharing your love for the arts with our community. Now sit back, relax, and enjoy Riverdance!

Kindest regards,

Josh LaBelle
Executive Director
Seattle Theatre Group

Who’s Who

THE RIVERDANCE IRISH DANCE TROUPE

The Riverdance Irish Dance Troupe are world-class Irish dancers. They hail mostly from Ireland, Northern Ireland, Great Britain, the United States, Canada and Australia. Between them the dancers can boast of hundreds of championships won in Ireland and abroad. Most started dancing at a young age at local dance schools and progressed to world championship level before being chosen to perform in Riverdance. The dancers would have known and competed against each other at various competitions, including the World Championships. Riverdance has given them the opportunity to perform together in a noncompetitive way. The grace and eloquence of their soft-shoe dance and the power and precision of their hard-shoe routines clearly display the endless hours of practice and their dedication to the art of Irish Dance.
