New Pages: A Festival of Commissioned Works

See the next big thing before anyone else in its most raw form. A.C.T.’s Young Conservatory will present monologues and scenes written specifically for young actors at the Strand’s Rueff theatre.

May 22 at 6:30 p.m. & May 23 at 7 p.m.

RootStock Arts Live

In partnership with Berkeley Rep, as a preshow performance for The Lunchbox, RootStock Arts will present an evening of Indian fusion music featuring the BayRaagis at Michael’s Second Act. Tickets are currently sold out, but you can join the waitlist!

Valley Dance Theatre Spring Rep

Want to take in some dance while still feeling patriotic? The Spring Rep program will give you three story dances and a salute to the armed forces to finish. First is Peter and the Wolf, followed by Arthur Sullivan’s Pineapple Poll, and ending with Gershwin’s American in Paris. Following these will be their own dance: Red, White and Blue.

May 23 at 7 p.m. & May 24 at 2 p.m.

Deep Improv: Exploring Stories of Relationships

Not sure quite what you’re looking for this weekend? That’s just fine because you’ll never know exactly what you’ll get with Bay Area Playback Theater. Surrounding the idea of relationships, this improv show scratches deeper than the surface.
