The Artisans Behind “The Play that Goes Wrong”
The play must go right before it goes wrong: check out the artist behind the scenes of Seattle Rep’s current show. Plus, RSVP for WALK DONT RUN, and check out this week’s events.

Did You Know...? Seattle Rep is one of the few arts organizations in the region to have on-site production shops in the same building as their theatres, rehearsal halls, and administrative offices. Their skilled local artisans come together to create the costumes, props, and scenery—plus design the environmental details like lighting and sound—that bring stunning worlds to life on Seattle Rep’s stages.
The Play That Goes Wrong is a show that needs not only comedic skill and timing, but virtuosic production design and execution to support the action on stage. The set itself is really another character in the play! With safety at the forefront, designers and artisans are tasked with creating a setting where every object, every wall, every piece of furniture can be used—often in unconventional ways—to communicate increasing chaos and destruction at every turn. Everything on stage needs to go really right in order to go really wrong.
WALKDONTRUN invites the community to activate Seattle’s urban parks, sidewalks, plazas, and vacant storefronts with music, visual art, and performance along a 3-kilometer route from Pioneer Square to Belltown. Click to step into the know.
