For all the Spanish speakers
The Puget Sound’s weekly roundup of arts, culture, and community | October 2 to 8, 2026
This month, within our Accessible Calendar, there is something a little different offered. At select performances of References to Salvador Dalí Make Me Hot at Sound Theatre Company there will be Spanish open captions available. While English open captions have become a more common offering among theatres, it is still rare to see Spanish as an option. And its not just at a single performance; there are four in total, one of them being tonight.
In addition to the English and Spanish open captions, Sound Theatre Company offers ASL interpretation, audio-described and sensory-friendly performances. They are doing something more than just welcoming those who might feel excluded, they are proving that even a smaller theatre can offer accessible options of all varieties. — Ciara
