This weekend is all about accessible performances in Seattle. On Saturday, October 4, Union Arts Center presents the closing weekend of An Enemy of the People with both ASL interpretation and audio description—making this gripping story about truth, power, and community fully accessible for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, blind, and low-vision audience members. Over at Pacific Northwest Ballet, the matinee on October 4 of Jewels sparkles even brighter with audio description, offering vivid narration of Balanchine’s dazzling choreography and design so everyone can experience the full beauty of the performance.

Families have plenty to enjoy, too. Seattle Children’s Theatre hosts a sensory-friendly performance of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom on Saturday afternoon, designed with a relaxed environment where kids can move, make noise, and explore at their own comfort level. With lowered sound, adjusted lighting, and fidget-friendly spaces, it’s a wonderful way for children of all abilities to discover the magic of live theatre. Wherever you go this weekend, Seattle’s stages are making sure everyone has a seat at the story.
