Some Like It Hot

Welcome

A Note From Seattle Theatre Group

On behalf of Seattle Theatre Group’s staff, board, and volunteers, welcome to the historic Paramount Theatre for this performance of Some Like It Hot! This is the first North American tour of the new stage adaptation of the classic 1959 film and is a fabulous show full of glitz, glamour, and exceptional dance numbers reminiscent of Broadway’s Golden Age musicals. Some Like It Hot is special for many reasons but particularly as a model of representation in the arts. J. Harrison Ghee made history as the first nonbinary actor to win in a leading individual performance category for creating the role of “Daphne/Jerry,” taking home the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical in 2023. We are always excited to bring the best of Broadway to Seattle and are exceptionally proud that Some Like It Hot—which creatively pushes boundaries within the craft—is kicking off our 2025/26 Season!

In addition to our fabulous lineup for the 2025/26 Broadway at The Paramount Season—which also includes the 2024 Tony Award-winning Best Play Stereophonic, launching its national tour on our stage; the 2024 Tony Award-winning Best Musical Shucked; A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical; The Notebook; Hell’s Kitchen, featuring the music of Alicia Keys; Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera; and Disney’s The Lion King—we are thrilled to have a special bonus Broadway offering: the national tour of Chicago, which is our very first co-presentation with our colleagues at The 5th Avenue Theatre Company (The 5th)!

Chicago will play at The 5th Avenue Theatre this fall from October 22 to November 2 and is the first collaboration in the strategic alliance formed by STG and The 5th earlier this year. Co-presenting Chicago alongside our colleagues is part of our commitment to offer boundless opportunities for the Seattle community to have memorable arts experiences and ensure that our city’s remarkable historic venues in Downtown are protected for years to come. We hope to see you at The 5th Avenue Theatre for Chicago! Single tickets are on sale now

Thank you for being here and sharing your love for the arts with our community. Now sit back, relax, and Some Like It Hot!

Kindest regards,

Josh LaBelle
Executive Director
Seattle Theatre Group
