Walk Don’t Run

A 3-kilometer art marathon from Pioneer Square to Belltown.

Walk Don’t Run

Walk Don’t Run is a community art event that activates Seattle’s urban parks, sidewalks, plazas, and downtown storefronts with music, visual art + live performances along a 3-kilometer route from Pioneer Square to Belltown.

“Imagine it: traversing the city’s sidewalks, experiencing performance art and happenings, hearing music from buskers on every block, and enjoying temporary sculptures dotted throughout the city from Occidental Square to Bell Street. Empty storefronts and urban pockets—parks and plazas—are coming alive with creatively!” — Kira Burge

Inspired by NEPO 5K Don’t Run, which took place from 2011 to 2015 between the Chinatown-Interntional District and Beacon Hill home of artist Klara Glosova, Walk Don’t Run aims to spark downtown Seattle’s revival through fun, creative activities that put art at the center. Walk Don’t Run is spearheaded by Kira Burge in collaboration with Steven Severin, Alice Gosti, Philippe Hyojung Kim, Meli Darby, Olivia Neal Howell, and Jennie Kovalcik.
