Letter from Executive Director
Welcome to The 5th Avenue Theatre!
I’m Bill Berry, Executive Director of The 5th Avenue Theatre Company, and I’m thrilled you’re here for After Midnight. This show doesn’t just entertain — it swings. It pulses. It roars to life with the sounds of Duke Ellington’s big band brilliance, the poetry of Langston Hughes, and the heart and soul of the Harlem Renaissance.
As the curtain rises on this exuberant show, we’re also looking back with pride on a season filled with love, joy, and show-stopping moments. From the chimney sweeping magic of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, the aching beauty of The Last Five Years, the heartfelt storytelling of Waitress, the powerful truth of Parade, and the infectious fun fun of Bye Bye Birdie, this season has reminded us why we gather — reconnect with imagination, creativity, and humanity. And through it all, you’ve been with us. Whether you’re a subscriber or it’s your first time stepping into this grand theater, thank you for being part of the rhythm.
And just around the corner? A brand-new season that’s full of your next favorite musicals. We’re talking bold, brilliant, and bigger than ever: SUFFS kicks off its National Tour right here at The 5th, followed by the iconic songs of Chicago, the joyful cheer of ELF-THE MUSICAL, the comic chaos of Monty Python’s SPAMALOT, and the rock epic Jesus Christ Superstar. It’s a lineup that rejoices, rebels, and rocks on.
If you haven’t subscribed yet, now’s your moment. Lock in your perfect seats, your perks, and your place in the story. Visit 5thavenue.org to join us for what’s next. And to all of you already on board for 2025/26 — thank you. You make the show go on.
Enjoy the show. Let it wash over you, and let it remind you: this is why musical theater matters.
