GiveBIG is next Tuesday
The Puget Sound’s weekly roundup of arts, culture, and community | May 1 to 7, 2026
We know you are probably receiving a myriad of emails from nonprofits this week regarding GiveBIG. While we hate to add one more to your inbox, we want to take the chance to appeal to you directly.
Over the past ten years, this statewide giving campaign has seen drop off in the number of donors and donations. We hope this year we can put that trend behind us. While many of us are struggling, local nonprofits are going through the same difficulties.
GiveBIG offers you a chance to find any cause you are passionate about and donate directly to an organization that supports it. While we at Encore have a circle of performing arts organizations that we work with and that you often see in these weekly newsletters, there are hundreds more that need our assistance.
On the GiveBIG platform you can find arts education for children and adults (Studio East, Pacific NorthWest Art School); dance (Pacific Ballroom Dance, Velocity Dance Center); symphonies (Auburn Symphony Orchestra, Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra); theatres (Dacha Theatre, SecondStory Repertory) and SO many more organizations. Pick one, pick two, pick with your eyes closed or pick by intuition. – Ciara
