Picnics, Parks, and a Bit of the Bard
Theatre moves outdoors with Shakespeare in the Park. Plus, Taproot stages an Agatha Christie mystery, and tickets for Seattle Symphony’s upcoming season are on sale.
There’s something timeless about Shakespeare in the Park—a summer tradition that brings classic stories to life under open skies. With picnics, lawn chairs, and the hum of a gathering crowd, it’s the kind of outing that turns an ordinary evening into something magical. Whether it’s a comedy echoing through a city park or a tragedy unfolding at twilight, these performances offer an easy, joyful way to connect with the arts—and each other—during Seattle’s most beautiful season.
This month, Seattle Shakespeare Company presents As You Like It as part of their Wooden O summer production through Puget Sound parks and GreenStage brings you Richard III and Much Ado About Nothing, as well as shortened, stripped-down performances of A Midsummer Night’s Dream and The Taming of the Shrew.
