As Seattle’s new arts season kicks off in September, local performing arts venues are offering accessible options—ASL interpretation, captioning, audio description, and tactile experiences—to make performances inclusive for everyone.

Notable productions include Some Like It Hot at Broadway at The Paramount, with ASL, open and closed captions, and audio description; the interactive musical Chicka Chicka Boom Boom at Seattle Children’s Theatre, aimed at families and young audiences; The Play That Goes Wrong at Seattle Rep, with ASL, open captioning, and audio description on select dates; and the Broadway hit SUFFS at the 5th Avenue Theatre, which features ASL interpretation, open captions, audio description, and even a tactile display at every performance.
