In a world of soccer chants, we’ve got something a little different
The Bay Area’s weekly roundup of arts, culture, and community | June 19 to 25, 2026
It’s madness in the city. With the World Cup, Pride Month, and all the other summer events, there’s no shortage of things to do this week. Just step out your door and you’re sure to stumble upon an event that will sweep you away for the day.
But if you’re like me, and want to avoid the crowds and noise for the weekend, or even just a few hours, SFJAZZ has just the thing. Every Friday, the SFJAZZ Center offers livestreams of performances for members. Tonight, you can tune into Sweet Honey in the Rock, a Grammy Award-winning a cappella group rooted in Black history. The setlist includes traditional songs alongside modern favorites from artists like Marvin Gaye.
Take a few hours at home this evening before jumping into your weekend plans. Don’t worry, the world outside isn’t going anywhere. — Ciara
