A picture of dedication
The Puget Sound’s weekly roundup of arts, culture, and community | April 24 to 30, 2026
Practice makes perfect, or at least close to it. Rehearsals are in motion at Seattle Opera for their production of Carmen and we have a snapshot of what goes on before the costumes, lights and stage. So much work goes into the final product we experience. The performers spend weeks, or even months preparing every line, note, and stage direction (not to mention the monumental task that the technical crew tackles).
Knowing more gives us a better appreciation for the art we usually only spend one night enjoying. Take a look at some of the rehearsal photos to capture the bigger picture. Carmen will run May 2 through 17 at McCaw Hall. – Ciara
